I’ve decided against studying abroad next semester. I would’ve liked to have taken courses at Fudan University in Shanghai, but Wesleyan doesn’t have any approved programs for China except for two in Beijing (and both require Chinese language experience). I'm in basically the exact same situation, in that it's basically just not possible to fulfill science major requirements while abroad unless you plan it very, very carefully. Also, spring study abroad programs usually want you there for the summer (like what Andrea did) and if you're in the sciences you need the summers for doing research. I sort of regret it too, but there's a lot of stuff I'm doing at Wes now that I wouldn't have been able to if I had gone abroad, so it evens out. And there's always a summer or time after graduation to do something like that.

Not really, but I definitely weighed the costs and benefits of being separated from awesome and amicable friends.
