I got space for a webpage for my department.  I'm going to add more but not right now.  I'm not sure what all to add there.  Probably my resume and interests would be good.

Oh, I learned what 3M means tonight.  It's Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing.  I never would have guessed that.  I've been to decent number of company talks but I have to say

Don't be too discouraged about what you perceive as a lack of innovation. I'm not claiming to be any sort of authority on the matter, but I've come to believe that exceedingly few people happen to innovate high volumes of great ideas - for every great solution, they likely examined countless poor ones.

For that matter, don't discount your ability to implement either. I've seen plenty of people who can spout off seemingly good ideas, but can't code their way out of a hello world assignment. Figuring out how to transition from an innovation to actual implementation often requires a type creativity unto itself.
