Do they already advertise in the glossy dog
magazines where the breeders put their ads?

You mentioned vets already, but just leaving a card at
vets in high end neighborhoods probably isn't enough.
A full color flyer that can be left on the counter or
tacked to a bulletin board would be more eye catching.

Country clubs and/or high-end golf courses! Scott W. works for a restaurant at a Country Club - he might have some ideas re: other places these type of folks hang out. Marinas (boat people tend to have $). Plastic surgeon offices? Legal offices for things like estate planning? Exclusive/expensive restaurants? Oh, and resorts and full-service ($$$!) spas... because when they go those places, they need someplace to leave their pets.

day spas, equistrian centers (like the LA equestrian center, wow places like that are usually word of mouth...dont bother with flyers, think of the area that you are dispersing them in...can people in those areas afford to take their dogs/cats there...and I don't think people in San Marino are looking at the bulletin boards at the Ralphs..wait there is Trader Joes, and Gelson's Market...those are high end...but hey, what's the big idea of muscling in on Corie's teritory... :-) (yeah, like she give's pet massages)

I work for the company that publishes Dog Fancy. If they have an advertising budget, I'd start there. It's the largest dog publication in the world that gets mass distribution at many vet clinics. I think they also run company profiles on fairly new businesses, but that's something to talk to the editors about.
