One minute, I was happy that Obama had taken Pennsylvania, and practically the next, they were calling the election.

It's truly a Brand New Day. For the first time in a really really long time.

They might have won this battle. But the war will be ours. There is no way to change it. In 15 years we are going to see where people drew their lines and who was wrong and who had the vision to see a better place without hate and see this as just a small downfall in the onward battle for civil rights.
That being said, I predict this will be brought to the CA supreme court and over turned just like the last one. Why? Because Civil rights come before all else.
It would have been nice to beat it now. but there will be more fights.
The work now is to find out who will be doing the fighting in the courts and support them.

When it was announced that Prop 8 was going to be on the ballot, some of the news stations said that whichever way the decision of the voters went, it would wind up in the Supreme Court -- so that doesn't surprise me at all. It should be interesting to see what the Supreme Court has to say about this.
