I've enjoyed reading that.

Now I have to decide whether to stay with the next one and risk it never follows through or wait for an end before getting into the plot. I've be burnt in the past by unfinished WIPs, once by one the author swore was I final editing and would be posted over the following two weeks. It never was.

Congratulations on this perefect ending!
'Why haven't we seen Glorfindel since the end of Chapter One?' Definitely not because he got a cast in the LotR soap running on Amazon. There aren´t enough fics about Glorfindel in the WWW anyway!

Thank you! Glorfindel has a quest of his own in his mind... I think he deserves to headline!

having watched them put off visiting Tirion for as long as they could, along with their other three grandparents she had already made the arrangements

Grandmother Gull, she is a wise one.

At which point the two ellyth had what Tindómë would have declared to be a total meltdown.

Well, we'd been saying that they needed Tharhîwon to draw out a tree! And the Smiths are absolutely entitled to flip like otters.

As Tindómë had once pointed out, when they had found that copy of ‘Lore and Customs of the Eldar’ in the library in Minas Tirith

Oh, that book!

Melian there to set them straight . . . .

The Smiths' mother needs noogies.

"The Awesome Foursome", that's great!

As someone who has done the "We got hitched, let's have a party" method of getting married, I approve their choices.

You did it!

I did did it! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

I have come to rather like Grandmother Gull myself as the story progressed.

I actually sat and drew out Tharhîwon's 'diagram'. More or less an upside-down family tree so the Els were at the top and then each generation had a horizontal line of their own. And once I had drawn it, I realised relationships that I had missed before - and decided it was no wonder the poor lasses would have a bit of a melt-down.

I think the copy of 'Lore and Customs' might well have mysteriously disappeared from the library in Minas Tirith during a visit from one or another group of elves - and may now be bringing amusement to some in The West...

I could see Melian being inclined to give 'history lectures', and this one being much appreciated.

And there is definitely a lot to be said for telling everyone after the event and then having the party :)
