I don't know what to really say about this. Is depression genetic... it would seem so. In my post about this, I ask whether it's "easier" for someone who has had a family member kill themselves do the same thing. He never really wanted to be out in the spotlight as I think Frieda does... he seemingly just liked to learn and teach... never married, no children... perhaps he didn't want to pass on his genetic code to anyone for fear of whgat might happen.

Such a sad sad family history.

Yeah, I wondered the same thing? I think parts of depression are genetic. I'm also thinking that his mom's death in general probably affected him for life.
