The Book-Purse-Wallet Thingie

This started as a book-purse, but then I wanted to get fancy and it turned into more of a wallet thing. The flap was supposed to go on the outside, but at the very end of construction, my husband pointed out that the flap and the straps could not co-exist peacefully (doh!), so it became a cunning interior flap

Yeah, it's denim. The whole thing looks better in the photos because you can't see where I sewed crooked or blobbed the hot glue! I'm definitely an overall effect person more than a detail person...

I don't think I will make anything this ambitious again for a while... of course, when I saw the idea on Craftster I bought a bunch of vintage books (because why do anything halfway?)... so now I have eight vintage books staring up at me from my desk.
