Astoria, Oregon - August 4,2005
I like to call this 'My day in Astoria, Oregon'

We started our day at the most appropriate place in town...

Location 1: The Goonies House

What is it?: The Walsh's house. Featured aLOT in the beginning part of the film. You'd probably recognize it better with the entire fence, grass, and contraption they used to let Chunk in after he did the truffle shuffle. But it's still that white beautiful house we all know and love.
Where is it?: The Goonies house is located on 368 38th Street in Astoria. It's on the Eastern edge of town. Any good tourist map would have it on there. You'll see it at the top of the hill, with a driveway up to it. Don't drive up (as a sign notes). Instead park on 38th and walk up to visit. The people there are - to my knowledge - very nice. I was there mid day on a weekday, so there was no sign of people whatsoever.

So there we are. True Goonies at heart.

Another shot of the house. They had an ice cooler with a sign that reads "Cold Pop For Sale". Somewhere else it said it was a buck. It was so sweet. Told ya the folks were nice. :)

This is coming up the drive way. I was so excited the second I saw it I started taking pictures, heh.

This is the view from the house looking out toward the Astoria bridge. I was so jealousshocked that these people got to live in the Goonies house AND have such a stellar view.

This is looking our more northernly. They had a great shot of this same thing in the flick (Like when you can see Dicks trailer, as noted by Sean on the cast commentary. For the record, my guess was that he parked that thing on 38th street. But that's just my guess.) Isn't it gorgeous, though? I freakin love this place.

This is for all the Data fans. It's his house!! lol The window he flies from straight to the (closed) screen door in the Walsh's house. In the movie, his house it painted bright blue, though. But it's still the same.

One quote for this picture: "I want my bike! I want my bike!"

Also note the cute little kitty. He came up to us as we were snapping pics and was oh so friendly, so I had to get him in there, too. I guess he takes care of the Goonie guests while the folks aren't home, lol.

Location 2: Astoria Coffee Comp.

What it it?:A little coffee joint just around the corner from the Goonies house. It was used twice in the filming. The part at the beginning of the film where Rosilita is crossing the road and the car chase races past her. She was crossing Highway 30 toward this place. (Highway 30 is just to the left of the place in this pic). It also was the location for the deleted scene where the goonies visit the 7-11 type place. (You know, where Chunks eating all the ice cream and then Troy comes in and is his typical self? Yeah. That one.)I'm not sure what the place was back then, or if they changed it for filming purposes (most likely not), but I can tell you they did repaint the place since '85. It used to be a blue (I believe it's that color in the movie).
Where is it?:This is located on the corner of 37th and Highway 30. You'd for sure pass it on your way up to the Goonies House.

Location 3: Warren Field

What is it?: When Andy is leading cheerleading practice, this is the field it was shot in. You'd probably recognize it better if I got a shot of the bigger bleachers on the other side. But we were kinda in a rush. But I still got to be a cheerleader in Warren Field!
Where is it?: Warren Field is on Exchange between 18th and 19th streets. It's pretty much the only field in town and pretty hard to miss.
