Toyota Camry gets good review from friends that drove them and My Honda accord went over 100,000 miles before body damge and parts wearing out relegated to a being passed along to a family friend who needed an operable car while I was working over seas. Despite my being tired of it by then and getting muy present Jeep, it went on to give him a couple of more years of short commute driving.

Don't go to a dealership by yourself. Ever. Best practice is to have a male with you, preferably one with a little car know-how. Second best thing is to have me there. ;)

I have no experience with any of your choices, but I've been hearing a lot about Volkswagen recalls lately. It could just be coincidence, so research.

I have a Camry (2000) and I love it! It handles really well. I've previously always had huge cars - Cadillacs and Olsmobiles and did not think I would like such a smaller car, but this one is very good.

I do not have a lot of experience buying them myself, though. I would actually agree to bring a male with you - even if you happen to know twice as much about cars than him.

All I can do is relate this story, which really sums up how I approach the whole car buying experience.

rach,

my dad is a car dealer. i can call him with that list of cars you've got up there and the max price you want to pay and he can show you stuff. only downside is that you'd have to drive to w. bridgewater.

i've got a '95 subaru legacy. before that i had always had a corolla too. the legacy definitely feels more solid, and like it's sticking to the road.
