Had a nice time going out for Indian food, trolling for pawn shops, and eating vegan "butter" cookies with ginger chai lattes with a good friend, since she was unavailable for my birthday yesterday.

Caleb and I are heading to Volt tonight for an early birthday dinner for me! Volt is run by Brian Voltaggio who was a Top Chef contestant. We went a few weeks ago - but not to Table 21. Having just gotten better from pneumonia, I managed to get an antibiotic-induced version of gastritis (burning stomach), which was worsened by my taking too many Tums, etc. Just as that started to improve, I took a fall on Saturday (on the ice) and either slightly fractured my right foot (outer part near ankle) or sprained it. So it's been nearly four months on the new job and things are going very well. My new boss is highly appreciative of me and I'm finding that I'm fitting in great with the other employees. So I'm spending today and tomorrow finishing out my time at HHCI (my current employer). I'm enjoying saying goodbye to colleagues. I have a lot of respect for everyone here, I just don't think I can work in a job with so much multi-tasking and with strong brand preference based on volume-pricing rather than the best interest of the patients ( ( Read more... )
