it sounds like if you don't at least try, you'll beat yourself up over it! you should at least try to get a foot in the door, maybe establish your name with an attempt, or if they really want you, they might even negotiate the terms with you? like, a job later on, or different locations. BD just don't give up!

well those locations are their only bases XD They aren't a HUGE airline but they were the first ones I found hiring, and when I saw the open house was in Tampa (an hour from where I live!) I just thought, "ah! it's fate!!" I think I am going to go for it, I just gotta talk to my Mom again about it in case they do wanna hire me. >A< Even if I don't get chosen I want to at least say that I tried! I mean, I've never once regretted trying for something, even if I failed. XDD

That Flight Attendant job would be really neat, if you managed to get it... but are you really sure you'd want to move to a place you didn't know at all, just like that? I mean, if they'd be paying you a lot, then it's understandable. But you said the salary isn't much more than you're making now? Still, if it's something you really want to do...

And then there are the problems with your mom. Is there any way you could talk to her and try to explain how important it is that you get out and start living your own life?

I'm actually fine with moving. ;A; There isn't very much here, anyway. The pay is $17.90 per flight hour, with a minimum 65 flight hours a month guaranteed, which is $1,163 a month sans taxes - where at my current job, I work something like 35 hours a week at $7.05, and it's.. call it 150 hours a month, and that's $1,057 sans taxes. And it seems there are other benefits/pay to the flight job that I don't understand. XDD But I think I would rather take the less-than-20-hour work week to the 35-hour one if I'm going to be making the same anyway

Oh, I see - it isn't so much the slight pay raise, but more hours. I totally understand that. And you'd be out of retail, which is a wonderful thing!

You may only have a small chance, but you never know what could happen. You'd be surprised how far just showing that you're pleasant and nice and a hard worker can get you. It's good that your mom understands and is willing to let you live your life, as much as you can right now.

Yeah, if this airline was planning on cutting staff, why would they be hiring people? XD Maybe it's all a scam and they're really kidnappers or something! Oh no! Yes, either it's going to be a lot less hours, or a lot more pay. And no more retail! ;o;

I just wonder how many other people will be there, and how many of them will be more qualified. D: I'm not really nervous yet (I won't be nervous until I pull into the parking lot, probably) but I am realistically concerned about my chances. XD All I can do is try my hardest and hope for the best.
