But...I did guess who was killed and who did it...my sister busted through the book the next day...I have yet to have time sadly.

HOWEVER! My guess...since I am only in just after Dumbledore picked up Harry, is that Snape HAD to because of the spell/curse/whatever he did with whatshername about making sure the deed that Malfoy needs to carry out gets done...that spell is unbreakable from what I understand.

From the way it reads, Snape has a choice -- kill Dumbledore and live, or not kill him and die. He knows that if he doesn't kill him, someone else would anyone, I mean the guy was half dead on the floor talking to a 16-year-old child for the past 10 minutes for cryin' out loud. So he didn't have to...he still chose to, either way.
