quick question...I'm going to Hawaii in November - is the weather still sunny and warm that time of year? And is Waikiki just nuts?

if you don't mind, I will add you to my friends list. Need to start using this more, I read others all the time. Actually, I know moosebraying and instantllama from DC. What made you choose LA?

Hawaii, nov is great. Highs in the mid 80's, night is in the 60s. It is the wet season, though the rains are usually quick. North Shore, the waves will be 10-15 feet so you can see the pros surfing, cool stuff. Plus it is whale season, so you will probably be able to go whale watching.

Waikiki is tourist romping around. A miss of mainland and japanese tourists. It is a close beach, but there are a lot better beaches to go to that have almost no one and the water is so much better. As far as Waikiki city part, shops, hotels, bars. Though it is an experience in it's self. Waikiki actually used to be swamp land before they drained it to make the tourist area.

Which islands are you going too?

why LA 20three September 24 2003, 09:39:49 UTC
I don't mind that you add me at all :)

So why did I choose LA? Well, I lived in the Northern VA/DC area for the majority of my life. THe final years became pretty rocky with all of the craziness in the world. With the sniper crap happening in my neighborhood I began to fear for my own life. I wanted to LIVE. I also wanted to escape the government clients and be more creatively fulfilled in my day-to-day work. I had a few contacts in LA - so I packed my stuff up and moved :)

I really need to plan my trip to Hawaii. I have my plane ticket and I'm leaning towards just staying on one island for this trip. I've heard great things about Kauai - but it's just me, so I think I need to stay in a more populated area like Waikiki. I may do Waikiki for 5 days and the North Shore for 2...maybe pamper myself at Turtle Bay for one night :) A birthday present to myself :)
