Yano, it's kinda funny that you should mention getting a black Kawasaki Ninja... since that's what Tenju rode. And he had a haven over just north of the Hood Canal Bridge, on that little island with the sandbar that shows up at low tide.
The thing with a motorcycle, though, is that in the normal weather we get, it can get pretty miserable riding around all wet. It would be nice to get the Akira bike, where you're enclosed, but I don't think we'll see that anytime soon and not in our price range.
Honestly, I'd go for a high-gas-milage car. I know you were looking at a motorcycle for a while, but it probably isn't the most practical thing around the Puget Sound.
Yeah I know but Spring is rapidly approching, and it's going to be nice for several months in a row, and I figured if I get a bike (well within my price range) I'll fit the one thing I wanted a (brand new) Vehicle. Also I can't argue with 74.2 Miles per Gallon. I recognize the whole living in the puget sound is going to suck, but this bike gives me the added freedom, I'm already use to just taking buses and I don't mind going back and forth should I have to.
I know you're not planning on racing, but you sure you want a 250... they're awfully small. I'd personally recommend a 500 for a starter bike (I have driven a 600 and a 750).

Just my 2 cents.
