Mika's basically said everything that needs to be said already, except that if you need stuff, you can gt it in town, like food, more tape, medical supplies...
It's not really safe to go alone, though. We've been having pretty quiet activity the last few days besides one of the other residents being possessed. She's better now, it looks like, so it's safe to go out. It's definitely not going to last, though.
As far as actual weapons and stuff, you might want to get a gun or have something like that on hand, but for the most part, the ghosts are immune to that stuff. Most of the residents here don't really pick fights with one another, either, so you're probably safe from getting raided by others, and stuff.

You might have luck at the mall, but I wouldn't vouch for quality that you're going to get there. It'd be like... gift store swords.

It's not much, but I have this pipe. It works well. You can have it until you can get something better.
