Very nice little snippet about Duchess.

I find she's far more a complex character (or at the very least, has the potential to be) than most people give her credit for.

I agree. I think poor Duchess (and Jack, for that matter) definitely got the short end of the stick when it came to appreciating her character. Minor characters need love too :)

very interesting premise - gives you just enough of a glance into the Duchess' head without spoiling any of the mystery. This could really be an epic book kind of thing.
