I'm sorry about the loss. I didn't know him very well but I still liked him. Next time I go over to Malcolm's house I will probably miss him, even if he did scare me half to death every time I went through that door.

Why the heck does our dog die!?

How does this fit in some kind of important plan.Some perfect universe of cause and effect guided by the hand of my God.

No matter howmuch I think about it he is gone, and no matter how many ways I remeber him, they are all just repeats, there will never be anything new.

I like the way you describe him in the last paragraph.

I hate how people can trivialize a pet's death. Relationships with animals fall onto a completely different level than those with humans, but it doesn't mean that they're any less important.
I was devestated when my first cat died. I was the one to find and bury him. I don't know what I'll do when any of my other pets pass away...my oldest doggie is 13, and I'm terrified that we might have to put him down soon. Sigh.
