Because I haven't done one of these things in AGES. Stolen from Clare who stole it from Clo.

Have you ever licked the back of a CD to try to get it to work?:
No. People do that?

What's the largest age difference between yourself and someone you’ve dated?:
Well, I don't actually know the difference between Jaron and I, and with my standing record of one relationship...about a year I think, his birthday's in May too.

Ever been in a car wreck?:
No, small collision once but hardly qualifies as a wreck.

Were you popular in high school?:
I had friends. I wasn't "popular" in the sense of envied, but I wasn't lonely either!

Have you ever been on a blind date?:
Nope. I'm not really opposed to them, but I can't imagine them producing more than friendship. Guess I just move slow with these things.

Are looks important?:
I'm with Clare on finding people you like more attractive (and finding the flaws in people once you break up with them!). But looks aren't very important to me. Which isn't to say I can't admire them - without wanting to be with the person necessarily!

Do you have any friends that you've known for 10 years or more??:
I've known Tops forever. Well, since I was 2 or 3 years old. But most of my friends from late primary/intermediate moved away, and I've lost touch, sadly.

By what age would you like to be married?:
Totally have no idea. It doesn't factor on my life plan, although I hope for it to happen. Given how long it's taken me to start dating...heh.

Does the number of people a person's slept with affect your view of them?:
When they're quite young, yes - like in high school it would. But after, well, not really, if it comes up at all.

Have you ever made a mistake?:
In anything? Hells yes. Lots.

Are you a good tipper?:
I don't really tip, it's not something I was ever exposed to here. Every place does different things with their tips, anyway, no guarantee the person who serves you will get what you give.

What's the most you have spent for a haircut?:
I don't know...only expensive kind of haircut was free/discounted from a family friend. I usually spend as little as possible. Hairstyling for balls has been above $100, but that was an indulgent daddy thing, I wasn't privy to costs.

Have you ever had a crush on a teacher?:
No. That'd be...weird. Given any of my teachers I can think of.

Have you ever peed in public?:
Possibly on long empty country roads when I was a kid, but not that comes to mind.

What song do you want played at your funeral?:
I don't know, actually. I should pick one up. 'Brothers' from FullMetal Alchemist comes to mind right now.

Would you tell your parents if you were gay?:
Yes, I'd tell my parents anything like that.

What would your last meal be before getting executed?:
Hmmm, not sure. Maybe a really good, herby, satisfying lasagna...or a risotto...oh, there are lots of good things out there. Something for dessert, but I don't know what; maybe something from Strawberry Fare, that place is awesome.

Beatles or Stones?:
Depends on the mood. I know more Beatles than Stones...probably Beatles.

Beer, wine or hard liquor?:
Wine's ok but not an indulgence for me. Not beer. I don't drink anything straight, really, I'm a cocktail kind of girl. Fruity and sweet and complex.

Do you have any phobias?:
Less than I used to! I've grown out of a lot of insecurity the last ten years or so. Not much in the way of paralysing phobia, but I can still get pretty freaked out.

What are your plans for the future?:
I don't have a clear idea beyond the immediate future (finish a BA, honours in something or other) - no dream career or anything. I want to do something that keeps me interested, and I want to do something global - travelling, or connecting people, or helping people understand other corners of the human race. That's what anthropology's inspired in me, I think - there's so much people don't understand about other people in the world.

Do you walk around the house naked?:
No, I do not. Flatting...and just no, generally.

If you were an animal what would you be?:
A cat would be good, I like cats. Good mix of adventure and comfort. Or a little bird of some kind, though preferably not in the city

Hair color you like on someone you're dating?:
Black or dark hair. But that's just a look I like, it doesn't win or lose you any points.

Would you rather be blind or deaf?:
Oh, I hadn't thought about reading, that's very important to me too. I'd go with deaf, except that communication is easier for the blind. Still, you probably miss less deaf.

Do you have any special talents?:
I get good grades. That's a consistent trait which will very soon stop being relevant at all - but I kept it going for uni, which I'm slightly surprised at and proud of. Other than that...decent at many things, exceptional in very few. I dabble.

What do you do as soon as you walk in the house?:
These days, raise and eyebrow and let out a sigh at the state of our kitchen. Dump my stuff downstairs in my room and decide where to go from there (holidays = computer or PlayStation?)

Do you like horror or comedy?:
Comedy. Horror's fine, and can be really good, but I don't get much of a scare from it usually. Clever comedy has a much greater effect.

Are you missing anyone?:
Only when something reminds me of them. Dad, often and powerfully. Clare and Ivan quite often! Sam when she comes up in conversation. Tops. And of course my Mum, but not really, because I see her fairly often considering, and we do a lot together, so I always have next time to look forward to.

If you weren't straight, what person of the same sex would you do?:
Gods, I don't know. I'd have a hard time picking a guy who stood out that much, let alone a girl!

Where do you want to live when you are old?:
I don't know, I'm not sure I've been there yet.

Who is the person you can count on the most?:
I'll second that - Mum. Ever and always.

If you could date any celebrity past or present, who would it be?:
Hahaha, see above. Um, yeah Johnny Depp's a strong contender. I tend to fall in love with characters and not know that much about actors, though. Viggo Mortensen would make for gopod conversation over dinner!

What did you dream last night?:
Nothing that I remember. I got to bed late and slept solidly - but I rarely remember dreams anyway.

What is your favorite sport to watch?:
Um...? Soccer in Italy was awesome, but it would be, right? Random Olympics events, hehe.

Are you named after anyone?:
Elizabeth is a name that has cycled around the Haynes family a lot - I had a great-grandma (or -aunt?) by that name I think. But Mum had Beth from Little Women in mind when she named me.

Favorite Non alcoholic drink?:
Raspberry lemonade!

Have you ever been in love?:
I'll get back to you on that. Can anyone tell me when I'll know? :P

Do you sing in the shower?:
No, not really. I sing to myself when I'm walking, though, and hope no one rounds a corner any time soon.

Have you ever been arrested?:
No. And hope not to be...unless it's for a REALLY good reason.

What is your favorite Holiday?:
None of them are really big for me. Lots of tradition has been broken recently. I'm planning of starting more.

Would you ever get plastic surgery?:
I don't think I would, given that I'm reluctant to even dye my hair.

Have you ever caught a fish?:
A very, very small one. Once.

Where did you get this SURVEY?:
From Clare's LJ.

In other news, I've been spending lots of time with Jaron lately, and really feel like I have a boyfriend. This is a new and strange thing for me. It's nice, though. He flatters me so :P But seriously, having someone who like me is...different.

Home on Sunday! Well, Auckland, nowhere near many of you.
