What a horrible thing to happen. Not just the most deadliest school shooting, but the most deadliest shooting in the US, period. It's so sad when others take lives because they feel that they themselves cannot deal with life. There is no point proven, there is nothing gained, and you have made people curse your name instead of mourning for their ( Read more... )

I have to disagree. If we had a lot harsher gun control, our society wouldn't be engulfed in the acceptance of guns and deaths caused by guns.

If our society didn't offer guns as a way of coping with issues, allow guns to be an every day routine kind of thing... fellows like him who were in such a distressed state wouldn't automatically use that way of thinking he has been raised on.

Yes, he would have found or gotten a gun some way, but if we start now with extreme gun control, 5 years from now it won't be so easy.

No, no one has ever handed you a gun and say "Here, let it all out!" but the media and society sublimanily (sp?) do the same thing.

We have so many gun deaths that it's just accepted when someone is shot or killed. You see it every night on the evening news, and no, they aren't saying "This is right" or asking others to mimic the crimes. But it works in the same way beauty commercials work: The put nothing but skinny, white girls on 98% of the beauty commercials, so sublimanily (sp again?) we assume without being told that skinny white girls are the top of the top, the most beautiful we can come by.

I do agree that more counseling would have helped, most definately. He would have benefitted greatly from medications and probably just someone who would listen to him when he wanted to vent or express himself fully. Unfortunately for people like him, he can't see that. He can't see that he's young, and that this will one day pass. He can't see any advantages to counseling or medication. Hell, he might not have been able to afford
