Title: Que tengo miedo perderte Rating: PG-13 Pairing: Steven Gerrard/Xabi Alonso Disclaimer: Fiction. Summary: “Don’t tempt me. I can't afford that pleasure.”
Funny you would say that; I feel so awful that I just can't do Stevie's Scouse-thing and that feels like a huge hole to me...and my Xabi has no character either. You see? He is all dialogue and sexeyes...which is useless, since they're in the dark anyway. So he's just all dialogue.
You don't have to do the Scouse-thing--I don't anyway--and it's pretty annoying sometimes. We know how he speaks; we know how his accent sounds. (Or we should anyway if we're reading this.) You just have to make his English more casual or something. Unlike Xabi's which would be slightly more formal, since he learned it in school, but still, he's been "around" native English-speakers (Scousers esp.) for a number of years. The characterization is difficult. With them, I've seen/written them so many different ways (with some essentials remaining the same). It's confusing, and stupid sometimes, but after a while, I think you get it alright, and can say, "yes that definitely sounds like Xabi (or Stevie)." It's complicated though (maybe you wouldn't think so, but it is).
Thanks for the advice; it really means a lot! Definitely can count on you for Stevie/Xabi expertise. =P I understand what you mean (I hope I have this edge on Kakà/Sheva, the intuition) and I'll try if I get the chance to later...I don't always fancy writing Stevie/Xabi-they're difficult for me, obviously, and people write them very often as well...makes it even harder to get a grip on them-but it's Stevie/Xabi Day and all!

(And it seems real to me. That's huge. Bravo.)
