Summary: “I suppose I’ll just have to take the risk.”
“What does this one mean?” Fernando asks, lightly trailing his fingers along the ink of his lover’s forearm. “Jay-em…vee-eye-eye? Oh, ‘seven -’” the Argentine pauses and blushes prettily, “- sorry. And, um, a P.”
Sergio grins. “My parents’ initials - José Maria and Paqui - and my lucky number.”
“And above that?” Fernando prompts with a quick wicked smirk.
“‘I will never forget you,’” Sergio replies, shrugging.
“In Elvish!” Fernando accuses. He slaps Sergio’s chest playfully. “You big dork.”
The Sevillan can only agree and continue letting the curious Gago explore his body. So what if the exercise is at the expense of a few embarrassing confessions? It is also intimate and arousing, and he isn’t sure whether Fernando has any tattoos of his own, but he has decided he can’t wait for his turn to examine the map of that man.
Meanwhile, Fernando has already made his way up the arm to the next piece. “It’s in English,” he says, sounding surprised, and furrows his brows in the most endearing way, Sergio notices, as he tries to recite the words. “‘In the mem-memory of the ones alive. Ex -’ I mean, ‘- eleven’. I think.” His gaze moves to meet Sergio’s. “I know my English is poor, but I honestly don’t understand.”
Sergio chuckles and pulls Fernando down for a kiss - he can’t help it; it’s just one of those moments - before shifting to display his right bicep.
“‘The spirit of the dead lies…’” they read together, “…‘in the memory of the ones alive.’”
“Oh,” Fernando finishes. “I get it. That’s nice.” Then, “Oh! But Sergio -” he shakes the shoulders of man below him wildly and says seriously, “what if you have to get one arm amputated one day?” Fernando’s eyes are wide. “Then it won’t make sense any more.”
“I suppose I’ll just have to take the risk,” Sergio attempts to answer as earnestly. He smiles, though, when he adds, “After all, between you and me, I am the one who’s a big dork.”

• It started as a drabble for footie-100 under the prompt 'dramatic', but I just couldn't stop. :/
