Title: On Shakespeare
Rating: G
Pairing: Cesc Fàbregas/Robin van Persie

On their anniversary, Cesc surprised Robin with a box of chocolate and a big homemade card, which Robin eyed suspiciously.

“Read it,” Cesc said, taking his hand.

“‘Robin,’” whose namesake recited aloud, “‘Happy Anniversary. Te quiero. You are the Cressida to my Troilus, the Juliet to my Romeo, the Ophelia to my Hamlet…’”

“Keep reading!” Cesc insisted, when Robin gave him an increasingly incredulous look.

“‘…the Cleopatra to my Antony, the Desdemona to my…Othello?!-the Cordelia to my King of France, the Three Witches to my Macbeth?’-Cesc, what the hell! Do you even know what you’re talking about?”

Cesc nodded. “They are romantic,” he said. “Shakespeare, si? Romantic chap.”

“Cesc, these characters are from his tragedies!”

“Oh.”

“That means it’s bad, Cesc, no happy endings for any of these characters!”

“Ohh…no!”

“Besides,” Robin added indignantly, “why am I always the girl?”

“Because,” Cesc said, puffing out his chest. “Me-romantic chap.”
