I've had this journal for five years, and despite my deleting spree I can still see how my writing style and perception of myself has changed. The themes are pretty much the same, though - still looking for someone to love, still going through decaying passions (although damned if I let music go). Ah, but I would rather not owe my parents anything more. That's why I wouldn't transfer, and anyway, Oberlin is far from Bard.

I was reading Prep (excellent book, btw) when I suddenly thought about transferring schools. I had pretty much shelved that idea, since how can you turn the deal of CUNY Honors down + the academic prestige of various honors upon graduation, but reading about the protagonist in Prep made me think about how actually unhappy i am here. I think I don't have any need to create, anymore. So, what's the point? I could:
stop creating (but then what would I do?)
remove something to create the need (but that's ungrateful)
I don't want to convince myself I'm something I'm not. But I refuse to become a suit and chase paper like everyone else.
