Does anyone have a recommendation for a neurologist? I'm on day 9 of this on-and-off headache/migraine, and I'm listen to those who love me. It's more than time I saw a specialist.
I've never seen a specialist before. I showed up at a general practitioner's office one day after a week-long migraine, and started crying, so they gave me a shot of imitrex and it worked. I suspect you've tried that already and it isn't making a dent?
Don't rule out a visit to the ER. Sometimes the cumulative pressure can just be too much for regular meds to help.
I saw a nice neurologist for my carpal tunnel-- Dr. Sara Shuler with Dekalb Medical Center. I don't know how she does with migraines, but she's friendly and direct.
She's not got the best bedside manner, but she's damned good at her job. Dr. Sonal Hazariwala. Let me know if you want the number. I have had other doctors compliment her to me on her thoroughness and talent.
My brother's a neurosurgeon, and he's out in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm asking him anyway, just in case he knows anyone in this area. I'm tried Imitrex before, but it did nothing for me.
