It's my opinion that while Wal-Mart is quite successful as a corporation, it's a failure as a moral and ethical entity. And the thing that grosses me out the most about it is that they try to sell their product as being made by "just plain folks" who care about the same good wholesome varieties of God, country, and apple pie as any normal red-blooded American, while at the same time being completely unethical on so many levels themselves ( ... )

Thank you. Some cogent arguments.

However, the article says nothing about Wal-Mart being a "persecuted minority" - nor does it bring up Christianity. The major complaint of the article seems to be - at least the way I read it - was that Wal-Mart is being attacked for being successful.

And the flip side of the coin is that I know people who work for Wal-Mart. And they like their jobs - a few of them even quit other jobs to go to work for Wal-Mart. In two cases, jobs that paid more, because they got hours at Wal-Mart that fit in better with their personal lives.

And besides, the wage difference between Costco and Wal-Mart is trivial - average wages are $9.64 (Wal-Mart) versus $10.00 (Costco). Whole Foods I have no idea about.
