I raised a few kittens in my life, got my beautiful tabby 14 years ago and she's still a bratty yet wonderful sass machine.

Sharkie was found abandoned five years ago and the worst habit was sleeping in the sink.

All our pets get along well but Charlotte, my tabby, shes the boss. Sure new puppy, you play with big granny. She'll play a bit then tell puppy to stick it with a swat. You'll find everyone napping together on the sofa the afternoon after the morning wresting matches

Active is the animals enjoying life, they're sick or bored shitless if they're not!

Anyone who thinks a kitten is just going to lie there and look cute is a fool. Hell i have four cats, all boys, the two eldest are 13 this year and they still randomly decide to run around on the walls and climb the curtains from time to time.

You have my sympathies for having to deal with numpties.

I would agree with this. I just adopted a kitten and he is a handful but I love it. And he has been great for my other cat. But you make a commitment to the kitten to be active with them.

Kittens are a handful. DH did NOT want a kitten (too energetic and too easy to hurt if he rolled over on it while sleeping) so we adopted adult cats (the first set of brothers were about 14 months when we got them, the 2nd set of brothers (see icon) were just over 2, and the little girl was supposed to be a year ... we think she was actually about 9 months). We figure that adults are harder to place ... especially pairs and we prefer them a little older and less frantic. Even the 9 month was a LOT less trouble than a normal 8 week kitten. We've had her for a year and she is still finding new and interesting things to do (and encouraging the boys to do so as well ( ... )
