I'm 100% against Cutco, not because of any articles in the paper, but because I've watched too many people do it. It's a shame that companies like this give network marketing a bad name. I'm with another company that I love, because they pay me what they tell me they're going to pay me. My poor friend worked so hard last summer, and she made $300 the whole summer. I made about that much in a month working one full day a week at a retail job.

I'm very interested I've been working retail for about 2 years now in between school and I've not made anywhere near that. think you could fill me in. you see I decided I needed more money and thats why I started researching cutco, but now I'm not sure. so if you have any information about a good retail job let me know please.

I don't know about another good retail job because personally I hate retail. But Cutco doesn't fulfill promises. If you're interested in network marketing, I know about a better company. Email me @ wolfes@prepaidlegal.com so we don't go off-topic on this community.

you get what you put into vector. i've been there for 3 months and have sold over $8000. i have nice paychecks. but it isn't because other people that have worked there have told me...its the customers that i visit that have had theirs for over 50 years that say it is worth every penny. i have a wonderful manager, i would do anything for her, and she is fair. she was the top rep in the nation last year, with personal sales over 300,000. maybe i just lucked out, but the harder you work and the more enthusiastic you are, the more you sell. i sell in a town with one stop light, people are poor. but just the thought of having the best knives in the world in their possession makes them feel great...and it makes me feel even better. aspects do suck about the company, and things are misleading. those people that arent cut out for the job do deserve compensation for the time and money they spent putting in...but for those like me who work their tails off and try and help others, its totally worth it. my resume can kick anyone's ass any ( ... )

I am definitely against Vector marketing. exploitation of the student and how deciving cutco is, its just not my cup of tea. too much contradiction as well. the managers at cutco is taking percentages of what you sell, and that equates to the pyramid scheme where defined as the uppers make $$ on the lowers, like the sales rep aka you if u choose to do it. aka a guppie. the more people these managers lure in, the more they get paid. how do they make money? a major source is from the inflated knives they sell to you despite how they say it is a deposit, when I for one returned my sample set and did not and still have not get a refund for a long time.

pyramid scheme... psykochyld August 16 2005, 03:39:06 UTC
I don't understand how the managers making money off of reps means it is a "pyramid scheme"... don't all companies have managers who profit off of their employees? I thought that was the way business worked... I did however slog my way through the lowly "sales rep" position (which did suck) and worked my way up to FSM- if you have the determination it can totally pay off- my paycheques are pretty nice. I am getting the vibe that my manager is just totally awesome compared to the managers some others have experienced... any comments?
note- please be nice, we're all adults here.
