(like the header says, these are my opinions. If you disagree, that's perfectly okay, I respect your opinions and I hope you can respect mine.)
1. gay marriages : I am pro civil union but not pro gay marriage because I believe that marriage is an instution of the church and the church should decide who can get married. However, I also believe that gay couples should have the same rights as married couples, so I think gay couples should be able to be joined in civil union in a courthouse or likewise. But save churches for people who worship in them, is my opinion.
2. The Death Penalty: In cases where the person may escape and murder other people, I think the death penalty is an appropriate punishment (as in the case of Ted Bundy who DID escape and kill others). However, for one time offenders and the like, I think prisons should just be made a lot less comfortable. Prisons should be places that people DRED. I don't think they are right now -- not as much as they should be.
3. Abortion: Legally, abortion (except in cases where the mother's health is at risk or the mother was raped) should be considered murder because if you kick a woman in the stomach and cause her to miscarry, you will be tried with manslaughter AT THE LEAST. Why is one person allowed to kill an unborn child, but another person isn't? Because one person made the decision to have sex, most likely without the proper precautions? Sorry. I'm morally against abortion, too. But I don't think my morals should affect the law. I just think the law should be consistant.
