I've given up on NCIS about two seasons ago, there was just too much omg!terrorism and tough guys don't flinch at torture and such, and Not. Enough. Fun. When I started to really, really dislike Gibbs, like, seriously go on fast forward whenever he appeared, I knew that it was about time that the show and I go separate ways...

Would you be interested in a kind of cop show with supernatural elements? In that case, check out Grimm. The show is now in its fourth season - starting next week. The main character is a police officer who starts seeing supernatural beings. Turns out he is a supernatural hunter ... The best thing about the show is its humour and the great plot, and the botched German that litters everything. For example: Widerblutbaden = reformed werewolf. Hexenbiest, Fuchsbauer, Woge = when they show themselves to ordinary humans, and so forth. Complete with the quoting AND translating of "Alles hat ein Ende nur die Wurst hat zwei" which almost made me pee in my pants. :-D

I've heard about Grimm, but haven't watched any episodes until now - I'm always shying away from shows that are too much into the horror genre (why, yes, I'm a wuss :-). The maimed German, however, sounds beautiful, and if there's humour... maybe I should really have a try at it!

I must admit that the images were a bit ... grimm ;-) ... for me at first, too, since I'm not used to cop shows. But after a while, I found that the story gives away enough warnings when to look away.

With that warning ahead, I really hope you'll have fun with the maimed German! As the story proceeds, other European languages come into play as well, and I can only guess they get maimed just as much. :-D

No show recs, sorry (just stopped the latest Downton Abbey episode ten minutes in because I was bored out of my skull), but AWWWW at the pretty piccies! Judging by that spherical prairie dog, winter is indeed coming, and it's going to be a long, cold one ;)
