What is everyone's take on The DaVinci Code (the book or the upcoming movie)? Feel free to put forth any and all opinions you may have on either.

I read bothe The DaVinci Code and Angels And Demons. Both were very good books. There is a lot of interesting history that is not disputed in each. They are escapist reading. I would think if either makes someone question his/her faith, that faith wasn't very strong in the first place.

I started the book and hated it. Interesting story, but fucking Dan Brown wouldn't just get on with the story. Instead, he'd go on for pages and pages about minutia history that had nothing to do with anything story related (i.e., everything you never wanted to know about the architecture of the new entrance to the Louvre) just to show off how smart he was and how much research he did for the book. Douchebag.

I read it. But then, when we began talking about Da Vinci in my art class, the other folks that had read it thought it was all true...talk about stupidity...0.o
