It used to be so much better here. All our "big issue" programs were downtown (where they really SHOULD be) while we had things like the dementia and Alzheimer's patients (I used to love having to go down that wing... the patients were all old and would dress in their Sunday best, they'd play records for them and they would dance or they'd lift water bottles as exercise - so cute!). Then we had the teen mom programs, and we've always had the inpatient units here. At that time, I used to think it was bad when our Acute intake was at the front door...
Now however, we have some pretty heavy weight programs here and the patients are allowed to wander around. Most of them arent scary but they are obviously here for SOME reason. And then we have the few that just... yikes.
