You're being way too hard on yourself. I don't know the situation with your other SOs, but if you made them stop doing something, it was probably for their own good. You aren't a control freak. In the case of Ser, it's not like you dragged her to Maine because you're a massive cunt who wants to keep her away from her family. It was because you have a business in that area, and it would be extremely difficult to just haul it elsewhere. If you get the option to move back down at some point, by all means, but don't beat yourself up because you're trying to maintain financial stability.

And fuck yeah, you'd better freak out if someone you were dating was doing drugs or cutting themselves. You're allowed to have standards, you're allowed to care. I'd be more worried if you just let it go. If it's an issue that's important to you, stick by your guns. You may not always know that's right for them, but it's good to show them you atleast care, and work towards a compromise of sorts
