The interview wasn't so horrible.
I was not going into it with good feelings but it was not half a big disaster as I thought. On my end anyway.

Dunno if it helps, but the whole 'getting on the same page' thing likely means that someone(s) didn't show up so they had to beg someone at the last minute to come in and sit on the committee, probably someone with weak knowledge of science and/or the position. They may have been quickly briefed on your resume too. The notes may have even been that person clarifying things they didn't understand about science.

This sort of thing happened a few times when I was at Cabrillo and interviewers were late or out sick.
