MLP Review - s2e23
Oh joy, another CMC episode. I love the girls, but I just love the mane cast more. Oh well, just gotta plow through it.
Awww, Featherweight is a cutie! Another lanky horse, I like it. What is Pony writing language even. Aww, helping out Rarity. Gotta give the girls a line for creativity… even if they do miss the obvious. I sincerely doubt any of them will get their marks by the end of the show. And who was that pony in the picture? A famous baby-journalist, what? I’m already pretty ‘meh’ on this episode, but, well, gotta pull through.
Mom stop talking, I need to hear this even if it’s a CMC episode. And at least Cherilee clearly loves her students even if they did put her through matchmaking hell. Tiara, we JUST saw you leave, did you only leave to make a dramatic entrance? And is it just me, or does she sound older than her other episodes? And maybe that ‘yaaay’ pony is related to YEAAAH pony. Aww, Namby Pamby, I love these joke names. And whaddya mean ‘last chance’, there’s still plenty of nonsense you can do, there doesn’t seem to be a time limit to these things. Awww sister bonding. Hey, Scoots CAN fly! It’s just… weirdly done. I’d sure love a flying explanation in one of these episodes. Awww baby Applebloom… I’ll be doing a lot of Awwwing in this episode due to kiddos, right? Only just now do I think Snips and Snails voice actors are familiar, and thus I somehow wound up liking them more. And featherweight is pretty compliant to whatever bossy girls say, huh? At least the boys took it well, what good sports. ‘The things they do when they think they’re alone’, this is going to lead to a lot of dirty fancomics, isn’t it? Aaaand we can already predict the moral of the episode. And that was a pretty amusing Glligan cut, I’ll give them credit. Are the boys TRYING to be famous on purpose? Bless their hearts. Sadly, by commercial break, I’m still not very interested or entertained by this episode.
Rarity, you’re her sister, you KNOW where she was raised. And classical sister behavior back and forth, my heart does beat. Even Sweetie’s shrieks endear me to their relationship. And how the hell are 2 boys stuck in gum THAT entertaining? Someone give Featherlane lines already, I wanna hear his voice. And… wooow that was mean with the crying babies story. Poor parents. Why would anyone be entertained by this kind of story? Maybe it’s because I’ve never been too interested in ‘real life’ gossip, but this episode to me feels like it’s lacking all kinds of sense… and BAM background ponies everywhere. And since when does AJ enjoy the spa? And Dash - OMG TRIXIE?! WHAT. NO NO GO BACK TO THAT, WTF. Dash why are you even there with cucumbers on your eyes if you’re not interested in this stuff. Though I do understand why she’s so reluctant for a pedi, I’m nervous when people try to do things to beautify my body too, ick. TWILIGHT, VOICE OF REASON - Oh dear god Celestia what was that. Seriously, what was that, and how the hell did he take a picture of it. The Mayor dyes her mane?! Why?! And is she related to Pinkie?! So distracted by these stories that I lose sight of THE story. And I am grateful that CMC Is learning the lesson on their own, that is emotionally mature… for about five seconds. Oooh these stories are getting worse and worse. W-wait, Flutters is that true? And… how is that a surprise regarding to Pinkie? And we’re all wearing for Rarity to eat humble pie and that was so delicious. She is best drama queen. Stop trying to take Flutter’s place in my heart.
KICK SOME ASS, RARITY. And that was good to call back how Rarity was wrong to this situation. Sweetie your voice is too cute for reason. Tiara you are scary, like really. And what do you mean bread and butter? You’re not popular, Gabby gums is, you have your cutie mark, and your dad is Filthy Rich literally. Featherweight! Wtf! Douche! Tiara I just wanna take off that crown and smack you. It’s weird but I like how many naps Dash makes, reminds me of my little sister. Fluttershy! NOOO NOT AGAIN, WE HAD ENOUGH OF HER CRYING LST EPISODE, THAT WAS JUST PAINFUL. Big Mac you are scary hot when you do that. Everyone loves the gossip column until they find out who is behind it, seems a tad harsh, but I can also get it. Obligatory STOP THE PRESSES line. Let me guess, they humiliate themselves before Tiara had a chance to. Dinky! So abused. Well, I was wrong, but the girls are owning up to it, and that’s good. Hell, that’s more mature than most journalists. Fluttershy hugs are best hugs. And daww sister nuzzles. CHERLIEE IT’S ABOUT DAMN TIME, WHEN DO YOU EVER FREAKIN’ HELP THESE KIDS. And Tiara still has those photos, she could still leak them out, but then she’d look like more of a jerk, so, ah well. Story was wrapped up neatly, jokes concluded. Still a very ‘meh’ episode, but not too awful, I suppose. Those gossip stories really make for interesting thoughts, though…
