Yay! So I got an awesome idea last night (plus a few more this morning, thanks to some of you. ^^ I'm going to be busy for a while, thanks.) and decided to write my very first chapter fic.
Prologue
”Where is he?!” Kakashi could feel himself swelling from annoyed and frantic to angry and hysterical. Tsunade continued to eye him warily over steepled fingers, seemingly calm and colleted.
“They took him, Kakashi.”
“Hokage-sama, you need to tell me where.” When silence followed his demand, Kakashi slammed his fists down on her desk. “Tell me where!” His voice was booming and vicious. Inwardly, Kakashi winced at his behavior. He didn’t usually fly off the handle like this.
“We’re sending out an ANBU squad to track them tonight. I’ll send off a team of Jounin to trail them tomorrow morning.” Tsunade said in that same brisk, superior tone, her eyes leveled on Kakashi’s own. She noted that his headband was gone. It had been a very long time since she had seen Obito’s eye.
“That’s not good enough!” Kakashi heard himself scream again and he began to pace, to get out as much anger as possible before he became blinded with it. But perhaps it was too late for even that. “I’ll go with ANBU.”
“Kakashi, you know I can’t do that. Go home. Get some sleep. Tomorrow morning, you will captain a team to go after them. You’re no good to me when you’re this upset.” Tsunade sat back in her chair and rubbed the bridge of her nose. She couldn’t handle this stress right now. Kakashi was damn stubborn.
“You don’t seem to understand. I know these two. I taught them. No ANBU squad is going to be able to stop them!”
Tsunade leaned forward a little on her desk, blonde brows perking a little. “Do you really think Sasuke could kill Uzumaki Naruto?” Tsunade couldn’t even get rid of that little shit, no matter how hard she tried. Her smirk faded on her lips when she saw Kakashi’s grim expression. He conveyed it well, even with his mask.
“Yes, Hokage-Same. I believe he can. He’s been with Orochimuro for three years. He is no longer a citizen of Konoha, but an enemy to it.” It made Kakashi’s stomach twist to actually say that out loud, but he this was a very urgent situation and Naruto was in grave danger.
“Well, then…” Tsunade shook her head with a resigned sigh. “What do you suggest we do?”
“…I have a plan.”
“Do you mind telling me what it is?”
“Actually, I do.”
“Kakashi, you need to tell me your plan of action if I am going to let you go after them alone.” Tsunade could feel a vein in her temple beginning to throb.
“Well, I can’t. Because you’ll strongly forbid it.”
“Then you can’t go.”
“Okay.” Kakashi shrugged, a silver brow raising.
Tsunade narrowed her eyes, standing up slowly. Too much had happened today. She hadn’t eaten or slept and knew she needed to heal a rather large cut on her shoulder. And now Kakashi was doing this to her. “Okay. Then I will see you here tomorrow.”
“Sorry, Hokage-sama. I won’t be here.” Kakashi shoved his hands in his pockets, his eye half lidded in that ever-bored expression. He turned, beginning to stroll away, tossing a hand over his shoulder in a wave.
“Hatake Kakashi! You had -better- be in my office tomorrow morning! I mean it! If you go after Naruto without my permission, the consequences will be dire!” Tsunade crumpled back into her chair, a hand held to her forehead and her eyes closed. She, of course, would not punish Hatake Kakashi. Unless he failed with this ‘great plan’ of his. Then his head would roll.
