Ok so, basically for the past x number of days Ive been thinking a lot about creationism. Basically I think that it is really really dumb. Its just one more thing that people cant let go of from the days of before science, and english, and the number zero, and internet porn. i agree. if people want to believe creationism, that's fine but it's terrifying to think of it being taught in schools. who knows, maybe it's completely true, but it's NOT science. i don't understand why people are like oh god is an explanation for the unexplainable... well, EVOLUTION explains what the bible does... ahhhh i don't know.

I agree with most of what you are saying. I definitely think most of education should be kept secular, unless, as Charlie said, it's a lesson about human nature, like history or english.
But I'm not entirely sure evolution is rock solid as of now, and I think Voltaire was in fact a creationist. Just to be that annoying person.

Also, "And Im not denying people like Jesus Christ were bad people". Hehe. I'm not sure you meant that that way..
I definitely agree with the last line too. Religion divides more than it unites.

no, evolution isn't rock solid but there's more factual evidence. obviously. you knew that. the problem with ID/creationism is that it's all faith and can never be proven right or wrong... because it's all about perspective. and many people don't hav eit,

"Evolution is a rock solid theory"
I did say that, yeah, I do want to sound like rousseau. If the idea of religion and god never came into being, people would find other things to hold on too. To jess, it wasn't "boom and a planet popped out" its much more scientific than that, Im just not smart enough to explain the whole thing. And I am insulting the whole idea of god, I dont really mind, it seems kindof submisive to me to believe in somthing like that, one might even say (throwback to ninth grade history) non humanistic? yes? yeah anyway, thats what I ahve to say about that.

Of course, now it is no longer creationism, but "ID" Intelligent Design. It was renamed to make it more palpable by the scientists. This did not work, no one is fooled, save perhaps for the federal gov't....but they couldn't be bias, could they?
