Mkk, so basicaly at thanksgiving break I was talking to my cousin Amy who graduated from flete last year and I was just like "I'm getting so sick of waynfletes ultra-liberalism" which is definantly true. I mean, It just seems like there is no diversity whatsoever. And I just want a change, I'm fucking sick of everybody being like "whahh fuck ( Read more... )

What do I think? Hmm. Well, yeah, I do think there is a lot of "Bush sucks Bush sucks" without much ground to stand on, but...being the Bush whacker that I am I can't say that I don't sometimes join in.

I haven't noticed kids running their mouths on politics, and if they are, they're with me and I don't mind it. You can't let it get to you so much, y'know? Do that and you'll always be consumed with what other people think.

i'm impressed. i feel like i got lucky that my parents are so liberal and i knew a lot about politics and stuff before i got to waynflete... cause i would be terrified otherwise. and i still AM, actually. and i also admire maggie for just being like "i don't care." like, not always the best approach but at least she's honest!

Oh my god I agree so much. I mean, I realize that's pretty hypocritical because I do join in sometimes, like Aidan said. But this year it's been pissing me off. I'm seeing like all these people suddenly getting really into politics and it bothers me SO MUCH, I feel like people are just "getting educated" to be able to argue (AHH ANOTHER PROBLEM) and to be able to tell off people who don't know that much. Ahhhhhhh. And there's definitely an elitist thing going on... again I'm not pretending I'm perfect, I'm definitely NOT I know I've run off my mouth before but oh man. Also, some people take their "liberalism" to this like stupid level that's just not realistic. Like uhhh no authority. Oh my god it pisses me off so much I am SO sick of school!! I need to go somewhere next year, so badly orelse I'll go insane I think. Hahaha I'm glad I'm not the only one though.

I concur. For slightly different reasons. Okay, mostly I'm upset that history class is becoming somewhat of a trial for me. I mean, it's my favorite class and I have to sit there are listen to EVERYONE jump all over me every time I open my mouth. It's not that I don't appreciate the debate--it's more that I don't appreciate everyone being so OMG SOCIALISM NOOOOO. Without even thinking about it. Not that everyone is completely inflexible, but there are definitely times when I get this sort of "bandwagon" vibe. And the thing that really gets me is this: HALF OF WAYNFLETE ISN'T REALLY AS LIBERAL AS IT SAYS IT IS (in fact, see above statements). "ultra-liberal"? I have to say, I think not. Democratic, yes, but definitely not green party, Noam Chomsky-loving radicals. Not even close.

(And no, I don't really think that I'm all the radical either--I'm a DEMOCRATIC socialist, not an anarchist or a communist.)

yeah, I think thats better said. Its not the ultra liberalism itself, its how everybody thinks they are. Yes, well put. I know what youre talking about, with history. Just to let you know I'll never jump on the bandwagon, I'll just disagree with you because your wrong. haha.

See, I like that. Disagree with me all you want, but don't get personal and don't assume. It's all I ask :) And really, that is the problem: people THINK that they're a) right b) extreme left-wing when the are usually a) just reciting something they heard somewhere else b) pure, middle-of-the-road democrats.
