I arrived home from Dragon*Con about two hours ago. I survived the massive attack of excitement and anticipation with the help of some really cool people on the plane. I am so going next year... Tell me though is the masquerade a CONvergence level (I am sure there are more people but I wonder about the quality of entries)

Costuming and Masquerade

My friend, it seems as if costuming is the main reason these people attend. Even the novices put together mind-blowing outfits. Folks bring four or more costumes and are in costume all day and night. They pay extra to bring all that to Atlanta! You will fit right in!

It gets to where you can barely move five feet in any hotel for all the people taking photos of the folks in costume. And it gets HOT in there. And some of the 'aliens' needed to be led around because they couldn't see in all that gear. A lot of the steampunk outfits were shooting little jets of real steam!

Officially (because of the fire marshals) they said there were 40,000 attendees. But actually, there were closer to 70,000.

I will check but I think they will be selling a DVD of this year's con soon.
