Explanation and a survey.
First of all, I would like everyone who see's this to answer what there character is. Like, are they human, vampire or a demon. Like that.
Why? It all falls into if Shiki will be able to understand the concept of their death.
How? His eyes. The Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. His glasses block this, but when they come off, he can see lines all over the world, on objects and people. Tracing a line will break it off. So doing that to an arm will the arm to fall off at the point it was cut. There are also dots. What happens if this is stabbed?
Death. No exceptions. Stabbing the dot puts whatever 'meaning to exist' the object has to an immediate end. Kind of like Overkill. Even the 'revive after killed' thing some people have would be tossed away with this.
Additionally, both lines and dots can be done by anything, but Shiki likes to use a knife. But if you say, have an immunity to physical objects, you'd think this wouldn't work right? It still would work. These lines and dots bypass the means of how it was done and goes straight to the result.
But not everything is like this. The main thing to know is that Shiki has to understand the concept of the beings death... which makes no sense to me still. Basically, if you're a being VERY off course from 'mortal' chances are, Shiki won't see anything. Also, according to various places, aliens aren't affected at all by this. Things that have truly died before as well won't have dots.
So here is what you have to do, you have to answer these three things;
-What is your character?
-Are they from an Earth like place?
-Were they truly dead before coming? (By this, I mean was your character flat out dead before coming. It has to be like... soul death to count. Like, it has to have gone off too a higher plane, leaving your body a husk. So if you're like a zombie aand you still have your past mentality, you're 'alive'.)
