THIS ONE'S FOR LINDSEY

Aug 11, 2005 22:49

Lindsey, I wrote you an emo song, as promised. Darling, why did you leave me?

My custard is salty from the tears that I cried
and mingle with the blood
that gushes from my wrists in a flood
of red against mint chocolate chip green
Like a Christmas that will never come
because you, my one gift, have left me
for a thousand Grinches in one boy
Leaving me behind like last year's broken toy
Unwrap me and you will see my heart is torn
like the paper you so carelessly
throw aside
And I have cried
Into my custard
Finally I mustered
Enough strength to slash where my arm meets my hand
where my veins cross so delicately, a roadmap leading away
from you
And as I slice my life away with my spoon
watching it change to red from blue
I know my image will fade soon
from the concave mirror that shows my life as is--
turned upside down and and distorted
You can quote me in your profile
for you know that in a short while
your buddy list will be fraught with "RIPs"
"In Memory"s
Which will slowly fade away with time
unlike your love, which simply turned off
You threw my life up in a toss
And now it is your loss
My blood makes for some very salty
marichino cherry sauce.
