i am quickly becoming obsessed with dc housing-hunting! facebook marketplace is actually proving to be a pretty good resource in addition to craigs. so general question...when would the best time to visit dc be if i'm looking for housing in january ?? i can't decided whether december is too late. it feels late, though a lot of the listings i'm ( Read more... )

If the DC housing market is anything like Boston, you'll really have to wait until end of November/December to check out places for January. The positive side is there are a ton places to check out. It's a little hectic, but manageable. Good luck

yeah, it's so hectic! i'll probably end up going down to dc in a few weeks to check out places. so what's going on with you in boston? still at berklee?

Yeah, I agree. There's high turn-over here, so you kinda have to wait till the last minute. My advice would be to move here a month before you start classes, just so you can become settled.
It helps with the anxiety of moving to a big city and may help you find a job (if you're looking for one).
