I feel the need, the need for plot bunnies...

Jul 09, 2010 20:05

I finished my assignment for the hg_seasonsfest fic exchange and I feel the need to write more H/G, but I can't seem to find any new plot bunnies. My muse seems to have deserted me again. :(

I've started a few stories but they are going nowhere really fast.

Anyone have any bright ideas?

Anyone?

I'm still thinking of the plot for your requested Christmas fic, C. I'll be sure and try to include the Marauders in there somehow.

The lay out of my lj is by refuted. It has lots of clean, simple layouts which I really like.

Some of my favorites among your stories have been twists of popular movies or books. What about a story where Ginny is Elizabeth Bennett and Hermione is Jane with Percy as Mary and the Twins as Katherine and Lydia? Harry's aunt could be Auntie Muriel...

That's very interesting. Harry and Auntie Muriel together? LOL. And Harry coming out of the lake with the wet shirt ala Colin Firth in the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice! Whoa. Definitely worth writing about.

I've been wondering if some fun could be had exploring the dynamic between Ginny and Hermione post-Vodermort as Harry and Ginny's relationship grows serious. Both are strong women and Hermione is used to being the main woman in both Ron and Harry's life and has just come off mothering them for a year. Would there be conflict as Harry takes Ginny's counsel over Hermione's? Would Ginny tolerate Hermione's innate bossiness? I can see her laughing it off sometimes and ready to kill her at others. Would Ginny ever be jealous of their close relationship? How would Harry respond to be being stuck in the middle?

JKR gave us a taste of this in HBP when Ginny took up for Harry after Harry cursed Malfoy.

Of course you'd need a plot to build this around which sadly I haven't come up with or I might be writing it myself.

I've wondered that myself. If I were Ginny, I wouldn't be able to help feeling somewhat jealous about how close Harry actually is to Hermione. After all, they did spend a lot of important moments, just the two of them, during the Horcrux Hunt, and that is bound to rankle just a little bit with Ginny, even if she'll never admit it.

Hmmm... possibilities are building up here. I just got an idea for a new story, and I may be able to put this idea of yours in there somewhere. It won't be angsty though, as I can't possibly do angst even if I tried. :)

I'm not seeing major angst so much as opportunities for great banter.

Currently, I'm fixated by this song. It's percolating a story for me...maybe it will for you, too. Listen to the words (although if the vid captures you then that's fine, too). :-)

Cool song, though I got distracted by the fact that Katherine McPhee was blonde (she looks better as a brunette), and the fact that the actor from Chuck was singing. :)

I love her other song - "Over It".

LOL! I know! I should have sent you a link to just the song (no vid) so it wouldn't have been so distracting. ;-P Next time I will know better. :-) I don't know much about her CD/songs so I will have to go and check out your other rec of hers...after I finish watching the new DH footage over and over and over again... :-)

Ella! I will endeavour to find my muse and kick her in the bum so that I can write for you just so you can recover more quickly. :)

Just don't expect any smut.

For now. LOL.

External fixation devices kind of ruin the mood.

Yes, I imagine they would.

I'll dust off some of the stuff that only have beginnings and no ends yet. How about a road trip fic? Mind, it's set post-OotP. I have another one ala Sex and the City, but the girls are proving stubborn and strangely closemouthed about discussing S-E-X. ;)
