Went to orientation for preschool (vpk) today. This was suppsed to be Tuesday, but hurricane Isaac rescheduled it. Nice that this year it will be free.

We are finally getting some rain and wind from Hurricane Isaac. Until now it's been sunny and pretty, but windy, all day. It should only be tropical storm strength here. We did pull in all the trash cans and chairs and such from outside, and got down all the flashlights and things from the attic (not a good place to store them, a couple died ( Read more... )

Peanut is starting soccer this year. Her team is about 6 boys and 4 girls (only 3 of which were at the first practice), all 4 and 5 years old. The coach asked them to pick a name for the team. Suggested names ( Read more... )

Today Peanut has decided that she is "octurtle", that is she only comes out and does stuff at night. She's built a large cave out of the couch cushions, blankets, and cat toys to give herself a dark place to stay in the daytime.

The grocery clerk at the smaller grocery store near us that I don't usually shop at recognized Peanut from her dance recital the other day. She had a daughter in it herself. Nice to live in a small town.

Turns out Peanut does have an ear infection. Putting her on Augmentin, hopefully that will clear it up.

Sadly I've come down with her cold, fever of 99.9 and am amazingly drippy. Hopefully Jen doesn't get it. We've cancelled a trip to the water slides on account of general sickness, but we hadn't told Peanut we were going so she's not upset.

Peanut did a great job at her ballet recital last Saturday. They asked her to sing loud and she did. My mom says she reminds me of me when I was in the kids choir. Evidently I was loud ( Read more... )
