Any recommendations on a Don Quixote translation? I'm completely lost without that nifty binder in the Bookstore, and it's about damn time I crack this thing open.
Aren't you an incoming freshman? Your opinions on translations of a Junior book are automatically rendered ridiculous!
Also, the name's Toph, short for Topher, short for Christopher, but if you ask around for Chris, people will just point you toward's G's boyfriend. For whatever godforsaken reason, I've become known as Toph around campus. So. Nice to meetcha.
I'll make a Platonic appeal and say that I'm interested in the Form of the martial arts, as shown in various Bruce Lee movies and Kill Bill. As opposed to, you know, like actually doing them myself.
I do know quite a bit about them, however, or at least I'd like to think so. But my role is firmly one of a spectator. I don't watch football; I watch kung fu.
At first, I thought you meant this in like the real life way, as if you were commanding me to befriend you on the strength of my interest in the martial arts.
Then I realized you just meant in LJ. Will do. Sorry; I like never check my thing, I didn't even know you friended me.
I recommend the Burton Raffel translation for being very easy reading; no "thees" and "thous" and whatnot. I think it's a good translation and lots of fun. Good for speed reading, which is what you will probably have to be doing.
