I am not a fan of dystopian futures, have I ever mentioned that? Maybe not here. But originally, I avoided sci-fi like the plague because I was completely convinced that it was all horrid dystopian futures. Which is true to a certain extent. Quite a lot of it is.
So now I'm being forced to read The Handmaid's Tale by Atwood and I...well, I would ( Read more... )

I really like the points you've made there. I know your upset that the story is becoming more serious and less cracky, but I kind of like the development. It makes me think of it as more of a Terry Pratchett-y style 'Good Omens' humour, where the premise is really funny and it starts out utter crack, but there are deeper-lying issues underneath that come to the surface to give the story more depth.

I'm resigned to the change, really. It happens with EVERYTHING I write.
I'm grinning a lot at how you just vaguely compared my style to Pratchett, even if you didn't mean to.

I kinda see this serious development as a plot that will eventually get solved and we can go back to what we had before. I mean, if we "realistically" continued through the plot and beyond, either the Doctor or the Master would end up dying and one of them regenerating. XD 'Cause it would get out of control and probably come to that. Which NEITHER of us want, I'm sure. We'll do this for a bit, then we'll wrap it up with a conclusion that makes it as ok as it could be considering the situation. It'll be good man, we control the characters and everything that happens to them and we don't want the RP to have an end any time soon.

Also, you forgot Sally. :) I see her as not really FIGHTING the stereotype, just ignoring it completely. I am fully convinced Larry makes all the meals. And that they live together but aren't married. Oooooh, what NOW society?!?!?!/111/1

I didn't forget Sally. She lives in Britain in the 80's. She doesn't really apply. She HAS rights.

DON'T YOU USE YOUR MASTER FACE WITH ME.

No, I thought she was in America now? So she can KNOW people? Donna's MENTIONED her in her posts, that she works with her.

No, has to be a different Sally. Deirdre decided that she wanted Sally to live in Britain. I asked if...maybe she'd want to change her mind? Join into plotlines? She said that maybe they'd take a vacation if there was a big plotline she needed to join in on. -_-
Besides, even if, Donna couldn't work with Sally as Sally works in a video rental store.
