A photo that makes you angry/sad
The first time I saw this photo was in A Century of Photography. It was close to the start of the book and when I found it I think I froze. You can't see it too well in this copy, but every face in the crowd seems to be smiling. Or trying to get a better view. There's one man in the front wearing an army cap who looks shut off from everything. The twelve-ish year old kid in the second row is particularly disturbing.
It really is a worry what we can and have done to each other over the years. And I'm sure there'll be more acts of horror to come.
