She stopped the game all of a sudden, hands stilling in the air between our torsos and her face grew solemn, all hint of play disappearing behind such seriousness. Her eyes rose up to meet mine and I felt my own levity shift and mellow, curious as to her actions. She opened her mouth to speak.
"You do know that I love you." She stated rather than asked, as if hopeful her own surety in the matter would be enough. "With all of my heart."
I felt a deep but lazy smile grow on my face, such a contrast to the sharp grins I had been displaying before. Her features eased in response, in so subtle a way no one but a lover would have been able to spy the change. Through my eyes that she still watched, I tried to convey to her all of the things I felt, how I loved her in return and how, no matter what, I always would.
"Show me," I asked her. And she did.
