A serious question for once ;)

Alot of times I find myself unsure of what to write (or rather, whether to write about my crazy life or protect the innocents no doubt corrupted in my wake) or whether anyone's even reading this anymore. Have you truly all defected to farcebook or do you linger still, like I do, in the lost annals of LJ land ( Read more... )

Everybody seems to be saying that LiveJournal is dead these days, but I'm not so sure. My LJ seems to be busier than ever, although mainly with people looking in from outside, as it were.

My most recent post got 996 views (only 171 of which were from LJ users, which is interesting), and generated a thread of 10 comments from 5 people (one of them being me, but it still counts). Not bad for a rather random post which I only made to fill the gap because I can't put up any photos at present while I'm remaking the back end of my website. When I do start flinging up the pix, the stats will probably go haywire.

I think this is reassuring in a way - it proves that Customers Follow Content. Build it and they will come, write it and they will read it.

But it does seem that a great deal of LJ's traffic now is coming from non-users. People who have Friends-only journals, or other suchlike restrictions, might indeed have seen it all go quiet as their friends up and leave, and non-LJers can't look in to replace them. Which begs the question, ( ... )

I didn't realize so many people were interested in my circus/acrobatics training! And yes, you should totally join facebook to become a fan of yourself, there's something ridiculously funny about that.

it's funny because right after I made this post Warren Ellis had posted something about how he was thinking of stopping reposted his newsletter to LJ and got a whopping 186 comments in reply. I guess it's not that people are gone... they've just become lurkers! :-p

I have a doozy of a post coming up about my last show! Imagine this situation: no soundcheck had, we realize as we are about to go on that something is wrong with our drums. How do we solve this problem? Do we cancel the show? Stay tuned for the next thrilling episode to find out!

I'm still here. Not sure if I am a good person to yell you what you should write as I don't post very often.

I am here. I will -always- be here.
Watching.
Waiting.

Alas, I cannot make it to the show sunday! I will however reply to your questionnaire wit the answer: All of the above!

I am too eager for this post.

Also, you can make it so posting to LJ auto-cross-posts to a Farcebook account, I have that set up. Then all you have to do is check your wall every couple days and you can otherwise remain ignorant of the damned thing.
