Disneygeek...now with more Don Bluth

Just saw "The Secret of Nimh" for the first time in over a decade courtesy of Hulu.  Every now and then I see something that gives away that Don was a former Disney guy....like a rabbit that looks almost exactly like Rabbit from the "Winnie the Pooh"-verse

Reading all of the comments and all the talk about how scary it is...  I never had the chance

Yeah, but was it *good*? How did it compare to the book?

I've never read the book. I think it's good in it's own right. But it reeks with mysticism that I'm sure the book does not have especially where Nicodemus is concerned. Jenner is also the film's primary villain. Reviews are mostly positive. But it would seem that the majority of those who dislike the movie are hardcore fans of the book.

I think it's visually stunning. Story-wise I'm more of a "Land Before Time" fan (the first one).
