Day 7 Report

May 30, 2008 12:03

Yesterday was pretty cool, for lunch we had some noodle place with some sort of meat on top of it and a bowl of broth.  I'm always surprised here by the tenderness of the meat, but I guess they use really low quality stuff and just cook it for ever.  Its always very fatty.  Tastes pretty good, though ( Read more... )

foreign coutries are different, like they say "theres no place like home". Japan was pretty clean, but they do have very different customs. I hope the meat you've been eating isn't bow wow. Now you'll know what to expect next time you go over there. Its been an experience for you, and not everyone is privilaged enough to see other countries outside the USA. I hope to see your pics sometime, bring them with you when you come to Fremont. have a good trip back! ( you'll beat your self home) take care BBA (now you know who I am)

Just before I left I weighed myself at 175, but the previous few days had been 172-173 (I was drinking lots of water to prepare for the jet lag), this morning I weighed myself at 173.... so I guess the kitty meat didn't make me gain anything. ;)

Ya, that's the shit I'm always afraid of in countries like that. People don't have the same rules we do in America and he probably felt like being a dick and kicking you out or perhaps had something he needed to do and you were in his way. He knew perfectly well where you needed to go. In America you'd take down his Taxi number and have him reported, over there they'd probably laugh at you and hang up the phone.

I thought someone said they were supposed to have signs in English, too. I'm guessing not so much?

They have a lot of signs in English and symbols that you can pretty much figure things out. But signs in shops and street names and things are all Chinese... the TV is all Chinese. And even though most younger people CAN speak English, they generally dont.

I'm so glad you are back on American soil. Did you have a good flight home? Are you ready for the BIG run tomorrow?
